FAQ
At Gold Squad, we know how much you value trust, steady support, and kind-hearted care. We want to make sure your family member gets top-notch help, so we’re clear about how we work, who our caregivers are, and exactly what help we offer. Here are the answers to some questions people often ask us. They show our promise to provide respectful, reliable, and expert care for seniors right in their homes across Montreal and the North Shore.
Can we have the same caregiver(s) consistently?
Absolutely, being reliable is key to providing good care. We work hard to pair each older adult with caregivers who really get to know them—their specific needs, what they like, and how they do things every day. Instead of just being there whenever needed, we concentrate on building strong bonds with the elders in our care. This creates a dependable and reassuring presence in their everyday life.
Are there minimum requirements for service?
We ask for just a few hours every week. This helps us make sure that older adults get steady and trustworthy help without any needless breaks. Having a set routine allows our caregivers to be there for your loved one regularly, making sure they are comfortable and well taken care of.
Do you perform background checks on caregivers?
Certainly. Every member of the Gold Squad care team is carefully checked and screened, so only the most caring and skilled people become part of our group. Keeping your family member safe and secure is our top priority.
Can we meet the caregiver before starting services?
Absolutely, forming a bond is important to us, so we suggest that families get to know their caregiver before they start receiving our help. Meeting up first gives everyone a chance to get familiar and build confidence in each other, which helps things go more smoothly when care begins.
What if we wish to change caregivers?
We know it’s really important that your loved one gets along with their caregiver. If they don’t quite click, we’re ready to make some changes. We’re all for switching things up, but what we really want is to create a strong bond that lasts. This helps not just the person being cared for, but the whole family too.
Will caregivers help with light housekeeping?
Sure, the people who help look after others can do some basic chores around the house that help the person they’re caring for. They can make meals, keep their living area neat, and make sure everything is safe and clean. But remember, these caregivers aren’t meant to be full-time cleaners. Their main job is to give support that helps older adults stay self-reliant and live with respect and ease.
How can we be sure the caregiver arrives and stays as scheduled?
Our caregivers clock in and out with a GPS system, so you can be sure they’re there when they say they will be. This gives families comfort, as they can trust that their loved one is getting the care promised for the right amount of time.
Will a caregiver accompany a senior to appointments?
Absolutely, caregivers are there to help older adults go to doctor’s visits or fun social events, making sure they’re at ease and secure. Helping with rides is one way we show our dedication to helping seniors stay active and keep up with their usual activities without worry.
